Hello. My name is Suzy Reed and I'm the owner of Daisy Boo Creations. Everything featured on this site is designed and created by me in my studio based in the beautiful countryside of County Durham.
My journey into crocheting began 6 years ago.
I had fallen pregnant and made the decision to resign from my career in optometry and become a stay-at-home mum. During my pregnancy I spent a lot of time admiring some of the amazing creations family members had made from wool and yarn. My mother-in-law gave me some lessons on using a crochet hook and I was, forgive the pun - hooked!
With a baby on the way, I thought an ideal starter project would be a baby blanket.
I felt so happy that I was able to make something so important for my daughter with just some balls of wool and a hook.
As time went by I made more and more blankets, hats, and even things like iPad covers for the family, and then other people started asking me to make things for them and were more than happy to pay for my time. At one point I realised I had almost three months worth of requests, so we decided the sensible thing would be to set up a proper business. Around that time, I had given birth to my second daughter, Daisy, who we affectionately call 'Daisy Boo' and so the business name was born.
The last couple of years have seen such a phenomenal growth of Daisy Boo Creations and I'm blown away by messages I get every day with pictures featuring people young and old wearing, or snuggling up to my creations. It truly never feels like work and is always a pleasure. The only down-side is having to wave bye to what I've made when sending it to my customers because I could honestly keep it all for myself!
Now I specialise in crochet patterns, which are designed and published exclusively by me. You can download a pattern for immediate use by clicking the shop now button below. I love seeing your creations come to life!
Thanks so much for reading my bio, and please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to discuss something you want that's not featured in the shop, or even just for some advice on crocheting. I will always reply no matter what the query.
Lots of love, Suzy XoXo
